Parishioners who help the priest to prepare for Mass. They lay out the cups, hosts, wine and water, etc., and make sure that servers are present and prepared. They also put things away after Mass, tend to the lights, sound system, and door. Currently, there is one sacristan responsible for each Mass on a weekend and on holydays. More sacristans would allow for rotation or substitution when needed. There is no formal training; current sacristans train new ones.
